How to Brew Instant Coffee
A little care makes each cup your own. These recipes are starting points—adjust to your taste and follow your package and brewer instructions when they differ.
One quick cup
Use: 1 level teaspoon instant coffee as a starting point, or the serving specified on your pouch and 8 fl oz / 237 mL hot water, about 175–185°F (80–85°C).
- Put the measured coffee in a mug.
- Add a small splash of the measured hot water and stir into a smooth mixture.
- Add the remaining water and stir for about 20–30 seconds. No coffee maker, filter, or steeping time is needed.
Easy iced variation: Mix the same serving with 2 fl oz hot water, then add 4 fl oz cold water or milk and plenty of ice.
Promise Table tip: Taste before adding milk or sugar. Use a little less water for a stronger cup and more for a gentler one.
